Hello!

I am Rebecca McLafferty and I am happy to meet you through our website. Have we known each other for years or is this our first introduction?

I'm a happy wife of 50 years, mother of two, grandmother of five, and step-mom to our Aussiedoodle, Tessa Marie. Oh--and a handful of chickens, too! When I'm not writing, editing, or reading, you can find me baking, canning, spending time with family, or watching old movies. I'm learning to macrame, too, but that's another story!

Whether we know each other or not, it won't take long for you to realize that I love all things writerly. Yes, that is a word. And just so you know, I used it for years before it became "a thing!"

I've loved to write ever since I can remember--from becoming a voracious Scholastic-books-reader to receiving that awesome red all-capital-letters Christmas typewriter! Eventually, I became editor of the high school newspaper. I've been blessed by many friendships made through writers' groups and conferences. There is simply nothing like talking with other Christian writers!

During my public service career, I wrote and soaked up every writerly thing that came my way. After years of one-class-here and one-class-there, I enrolled in Liberty University online and received my Bachelor of Science degree in English and Writing in 2024, cum laude nonetheless! I loved every second of the journey and can't say enough good things about that amazing university.

I've edited books, novellas, devotion books, and memoirs. As co-creator of Pens of Praise Christian writers group for 16 years, I mentored writers of all genres, learning from them as they did from me. I even had the privilege of hosting annual writers conferences on our alpaca farm--now that was a unique setting!

Yes, I work for hire. But I do more than edit. I build relationships. I want you to be the best writer you can be!
